Description

Ceylon Steak Seasoning is a finely balanced spice blend for steaks and barbecue dishes. All the spices it contains come from Sri Lanka and are brought together in a recipe that needs no salt and no fillers.

The blend tastes peppery, earthy and robust and is coarsely ground with visible chilli flakes. This means it can be measured out evenly and used both before and during cooking.

Flavour profile & taste

Coarsely cracked black pepper defines the robust character. Coriander adds an earthy, slightly citrusy spice, while visible chilli flakes bring warmth and texture. The coarse blend forms an aromatic crust when frying and grilling.

Origin

100 % origin Sri Lanka: Every ingredient in this blend comes from Sri Lanka. This keeps the origin of the entire recipe clear and traceable, even though several spices are combined.

The exact composition is shown in full on the product page and later on the label. The resealable pouch contains 100 g of spice blend.

Use

Ceylon Steak Seasoning is designed for steaks and barbecue dishes. The blend can be sprinkled on dry, stirred into oil or added directly during cooking.

  • Steak: Press onto both sides shortly before frying or grilling.
  • Barbecue dishes: Use for beef, lamb, robust vegetables or meat alternatives.
  • Pepper crust: Fix onto the food with a little oil and roast over high heat.
  • Pan sauce: After frying, add to the pan juices and deglaze with liquid.

Dosage: Start with about 1 tsp per steak and press the coarse blend on lightly. Salt is not included and is added separately.
