Description

Ceylon Soup & Broth Seasoning is a finely balanced spice blend for broths, soups and curries. All the spices it contains come from Sri Lanka and are brought together in a recipe that needs no salt and no fillers.

The blend tastes warming and spicy and is finely and evenly ground. This means it can be measured out evenly and used both before and during cooking.

Flavour profile & taste

Coriander and cumin give the blend a robust base seasoning. Black pepper and ginger provide noticeable warmth, while turmeric and chilli round off soups, broths and curries aromatically.

Origin

100 % origin Sri Lanka: Every ingredient in this blend comes from Sri Lanka. This keeps the origin of the entire recipe clear and traceable, even though several spices are combined.

The exact composition is shown in full on the product page and later on the label. The resealable pouch contains 100 g of spice blend.

Use

Ceylon Soup & Broth Seasoning was developed for broths, soups and curries. The blend can be sprinkled on dry, stirred with oil or added directly while cooking.

  • Vegetable soups: Add while sweating the onions and heat briefly with them.
  • Broths: Stir into the hot liquid and let steep for a few minutes.
  • Lentil soups: Cook together with lentils, vegetables and coconut milk.
  • Curries: Use as a spicy base for quick vegetable or pulse curries.

Dosage: For one litre of soup or broth, start with 1-2 tsp. Salt only at the end and check the seasoning intensity after cooking.
